Caledonian Sleeper – Service Update

Sunday 15 February

Due to damage to the overhead electrical equipment between Preston and Carlisle, Network Rail engineers are required to carry out emergency repairs overnight.

All services will depart at their scheduled times; however, trains will be required to pause en route while repair work is completed. Delays are expected as outlined below.


Northbound Services (Departing London)

  • London – Inverness / Fort William
    Services delayed by up to 3 hours.

  • London – Aberdeen
    Service will terminate at Edinburgh.
    Rail replacement transport will operate between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

  • London – Glasgow / Edinburgh
    Services delayed by up to 2 hours.


Southbound Services (Arriving into London)

  • Aberdeen / Inverness / Fort William – London
    Arrival delayed by up to 2 hours.

  • Glasgow / Edinburgh – London
    Arrival delayed by up to 2 hours.


We apologise for the disruption to your journey and thank you for your patience while these essential repairs are completed.

If you choose not to travel, a full refund will be issued.

Delay Repay compensation will also be applicable, if we are delayed by more than 30 minutes.
