Accessible Double room
Our Accessible Double room features larger floor space to support additional mobility needs. The room is equipped with a double bed with a handcrafted Glencraft mattress and a lowered washbasin and table. Shared accessible toilet facilities are available directly next door to your room.
About your Accessible Double room
Our Accessible Double room offers a private space where you can relax with a bar of Mackie’s chocolate before nodding off in comfort to snooze your way to your destination.
Our double beds are fit for a king and equipped with handmade Glencraft mattresses, supplier to the British Royal family’s Balmoral estate for 4 generations.
The lowered in-room washbasin allows you to freshen up in the privacy of your own room before arrival.
Guests are welcome to travel with their service animals free of charge.
On most services, our Accessible Double room has direct wheelchair access to the Club Car through a wheelchair accessible connection between coaches, and the Club Car also has a dedicated wheelchair space.
On our London to Fort William and Fort William to London routes guests who are booked into our Accessible Double Room will not have access to our Club Car but can order from our room service menu.
Our Glasgow services have two accessible coaches. Coach J is located next to the Club Car and Coach P is located at the end of the train and has no access to the Club Car.
We can take wheelchairs and mobility scooters no bigger than 70cm wide and 120cm long, with a combined weight of guest and luggage of not more than 300kg, in all our accessible rooms. We cannot offer assistance transferring guests in wheelchairs into their bed and/or the toilet.
We are not able to offer charging facilities for powered wheelchairs or accept CPAP/BPAP machines, ventilators and other medical equipment on board our services. Charging facilities are available at Caledonian Sleeper lounges.
All of our trains have accessible accommodation, but unfortunately not all of the stations we serve are fully accessible.
The interactive Access Map allows you to view all stations across Britain and identify whether they are accessible. Details include whether stations have step free or partial step free access and what facilities are available at each station, including accessible toilets and changing places.
